The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially declared the Class 12 examination results, revealing an overall pass percentage of 88.39%, a slight increase of 0.41% compared to last year. The results were announced on Tuesday, marking the culmination of months of academic effort by lakhs of students across the country and abroad.

Girls once again outshone boys, with 91% of female students passing the exam—5.94% higher than the pass percentage among boys.

Over 16 lakh students appeared for the CBSE Class 12 exams this year, held between February 15 and April 4, with more than 14 lakh successfully clearing the exams. The Class 10 exams concluded earlier, on March 18.

Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh) recorded the highest regional performance, with an impressive 99.60% pass rate. On the other end, Prayagraj had the lowest pass percentage at approximately 80%.

The exams were conducted from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM across 7,842 centres in India and 26 international locations. CBSE enforced strict protocols to ensure exam integrity. Students were required to follow a dress code—school uniforms for regular candidates and light-coloured clothing for private students. Early reporting, thorough instructions, and a comprehensive list of prohibited items—including mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, and smartwatches—were part of the guidelines.

In a move to assist students on exam days, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), in coordination with CISF, implemented special facilitation measures. Students received priority access at metro stations during frisking and ticketing, and additional staff were deployed during peak hours to ensure smooth travel.

The announcement of results marks a major milestone for students and sets the stage for college admissions and competitive examinations in the coming months.
